The eye is drawn, perhaps unwittingly and with surprise to repetitive marks in the world around us. Dots as a form of camouflage are present on the skin of the trout, the plumage of a bird or the pelt of a leopard. This pattern serves to blur the visual reality of mass and allows it to fade into the background. I use dots to deepen the illusion of space, marking the air. Found dotted fabric is meaningful because of pleasant experiences in childhood couture.
