Nanci Kahn is an established photographer who has exhibited widely and taught on both the East and West Coasts of the USA and also in Africa.
For several years she has been quietly creating fanciful birds inspired by Mexico's Day of the Dead festival.
Using recycled newspaper, paste and acrylic paint, humble material, allows her to "explore the idea of creating something from nothing...
turning straw into gold." This exhibit marks the first time the whimsically decorated birds have been shown in public.
Nanci Kahn resides and maintains a studio in Falmouth, Maine.
